i've always loved the buildings the firm site designed for the early big box retailer best.
if you're unfamiliar, here's a little background.
familiar or not, here's a fun video complete with great fashion, music, mustaches and architecture... almost feels kinda current, at least in my world (maybe hauntology?).
at one particularly brilliant moment (23 secs into part 4) a couple guys... one looks fairly will oldhamesque... in a passing pick up truck reacting to one of the buildings:
dude 1 - "it sure does take the squareness out of buildings."
dude 2 - "the squareness?"
dude 1 - "yeah" pause
dude 2 - pause "what do you mean?"
dude 1 - "it's not just a square building... it's got some life to it."
makes me wish zaha hadid was working with target & lowes as well as karl & chanel. maybe fat could work with wall mart and ...
