"I love the internet and I love bouncing around, but I think we all sometimes feel like, “wow, does the real world exist anymore?” We’re so inside this digital realm. Photography, for me, is a lot like web surfing in real life." - alec soth in interview

new orleans, la - alec soth

diorama of new orleans, la by alec soth - rolu
all the rolu'rs have been big fans of alec soth's work for a long time and his exhibition from here to there: alec soth's america at the walker art center a couple years ago was amazing.
for the making as thinking part of our residency at the walker we decided to make a diorama of the photo new orleans, la and invite the public to shoot their version of our version of alec's image as a way to think and talk about space in photography and seeing in general.
after a print is made, the participant will be invited to install it next to the original on a wall in the museum.
alec soth will be present to hang out and talk with us.
tonight (7/19) at the walker from 5-8pm.
please attend and enjoy the time while it is passing.
